We want all our guests and staff to be safe in our guest house. We have prepared this document to detail all the measures we are taking to make this possible while the Covid-19 virus is a threat. See below for details.
Fewer tables than normal will facilitate social distancing. No buffet – All items will have to be requested instead of self service, such as cereals, juices, yoghurts, table sauces, jams, tea and coffee. This means you do not need to move around the dining room, and will be able to maintain social distancing. This may require 2 sittings of breakfast, depending on the number of guests we have staying at any one time.
All table items will be disinfected after every use – salt, pepper, milk jug, sugar bowl, butter dish, and table cloth changed. Chairs will also be cleaned after single use.
Service will be carried out by 23 Mayfield staff. They will wear disposable gloves and a face mask to protect our guests. Hands will be washed every time anything that could possibly be contaminated is touched by them.
Breakfast Ordering - We will put menus under the doors of guest rooms every day for ordering, to be left on the desk in the hall.
This will be open during the Coronavirus pandemic for guest safety. The seating and coffee table will be regularly cleaned and disinfected during the day. We normally have tourist leaflets and magazines, as well as a local pub and restaurant guide in the guest lounge. As this is not safe, you will be able to download all this information online and from our website. Information will be posted in the lobby about this.
There is normally also a fridge with drinks, but you can request these from the owners directly. There are also a variety of drinking glasses. All rooms will have a bottle opener in them, with the hospitality tray.
We are able to do contact less check-in. We will be here to welcome you and let you in to the guest house. We can direct you to your room and explain what you might need to know. Your room and front door keys will be in your bedroom door – these will have been disinfected before you arrive.
As long as we have your card details, we can do contact less check-out and send your receipt by email. We will take payment during your stay, and you just need to leave your keys on the front desk.
Entrance and Lobby
Hand sanitiser is available just inside the entrance of the guest house, for guest use.
All door handles and the doorbells with be disinfected regularly during the day.
Room Keys and Keysafes outside the front door, will be sanitised after use, ready for the next guests. The table in the porch and the front desk inside, will also be cleaned several times a day.
After guests leave, we will deep clean and disinfect rooms as much as is possible, paying particular attention to all surfaces that may have been touched by previous guests. All laundry will be commercially washed by our laundry service, except for some small items and table cloths, which we will wash after each use with detergent, which will kill all viruses.
For stays of 1 or 2 nights, we do not plan to clean your room, unless you specifically ask for cleaning. If you need anything for your room, such as soap, towels, tea, coffee etc. you can request these from the staff.
For longer stays, you can request cleaning whenever you would like it. We will change towels and sheets for you every 2 to 3 days – you can change the laundry yourself if you prefer us not to come into your room. Cleaning materials can be provided if you want them.
